My Simply Successful Secrets
Simply Successful Secrets Take Two
This is my first tag. Had no clue what it was or what I was suppose to do. I messed the first one up and Debra helped me understand…
The original idea for this post came from Aaron Potts at Todayisthatday.com. And from this link I understood what I was suppose to do…essentially found out a tag is an opportunity to be part of a community as well as an opportunity to get some link love.
I am honored that Debra Moorhead over at Debra Moorhead.com tagged me with My Simply Successful Secrets. Wow, what discipline Debra has.
Here are the habits I employ -
1) Get up before the kids and in many cases at Oh dark thrity. Early accomplishments in the day make for great traction for getting much more done during the rest of the day. It basically allows me to get out of stop mode and into go mode.
2) Meet Deadlines. This has more to do with doing what you say you are going to do and following through. It is integrity.
3) Contribute to Others Success. I see this a lot in blogging…but I also help neighbors and family with odd chores that might otherwise never get accomplished. It feels great to give - and not expect anything in return.
4) Understand the Motivation in Communications. When talking understand their point of view so you can communicate more effectively.
5) Pzizz. After reading Steve Pavlina bit on polyphasic sleep I used Pzizz to get that power 20 minutes. Was not able to do the entire program, but I still take naps using Pzizz and it has definitely changed my attitude and my body.
6) Forgive. Comes from spiritual readings based upon a Course in Miracles. When forgiving others you are also forgiving yourself. Highly related to #3 above.
7) Analyze to Understand, then Act. There is something that is well thought out and analysis paralysis. Do the former and results
8 ) Smile. Just be happy, it is a state of mind, a decision.
9) Spend Time with Family Daily. Enjoy the family as the kids will not be kids for ever. When kids are young they will step on your toes, when they get older they step on your heart. I am enjoying the toe part now.
10) Do the Unexpected. I like to change it up and see what happens…
I now tag -

Dave,
Thank you so much for sharing your Simply Successful Secrets!
As a napper, an early-riser, a smiler, and a family man, I identified with a lot of your habits.
The rest were just as powerful, though, and I truly appreciate you sharing them with everyone!

Aaron,
Thanks for the post…I appreciate you stopping by and taking a look. Yea, napping is probably one of the most powerful influencers in my life…especially the 20 min powernap. It gives me the motivation to wake early and get stuff done knowing a powernap is in my future. With that said can’t say enough about pzizz.

I especially like “Contribute to Others’ Success.” As a marketing professional, I have found this to be the best ideal to keep in mind when writing copy or emails or delivering your product.

The Secrets Are Out
The project attracted 152 writers, each of whom contributed probably at least a thousand suggestions for success. Those figures speak to the power of the project, the willingness of writers to give and to share.

I like the idea of smiling (the inner happiness) and also the idea about getting up very early. I do it and I get more things done during the day.
